Gaither says, “The process of searching for understanding and the resulting clarity is what inspires me. My work gives form to my understanding of the individual’s place within the conflict of ideologies that shape social institutions and the need for social change.”

He received his MFA degree from the Pennsylvania State University in 2015. In 2016, he was awarded the Civil Society Institute Fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center.
