Artist's Statement

CORSIT suggests the restriction of the female body.  The work alludes to the human struggle between freedom and constraint, which is a particular dilemma for artists.  Elizabeth Stone’s artwork is figurative.  Her figures and portraits may be painted, drawn or formed in three dimensions.  Often, as in CORSIT, the human is absent.

Take a Seat!
