Artist's Statement

Even with thoughts high in the cosmic firmament, our bodies remain seated in an earthly realm.

Anne Burton earned her BA in art at Hunter College,NYC., where she studied painting under Robert Motherwell and sculpture with Richard Lippoid. Her Masters at NYU concentrated on metal sculpture with Jason Seeley, and printmaking with Gabor Peterdi. She has been a point-of-purchase model maker, art teacher, type designer, sculptor, potter and printmaker. A member of Zea Mays Printmaking for 12 years, she has shown work in the Pioneer Valley, New York City, New Zealand, the UK and Italy. Her recent work explores liminal spaces of Connections, Multiverses, and Thresholds.
