Accessible Seating
Please see our full Access Guide for Fine Arts Center performance venues.

Discounts
The Fine Arts Center offers discounts for many of its performances. These discounts are not always available for all events sold by the box office. Additional or combined discounts do not apply. Discounts are not always available through all purchase paths (i.e., in person, over the phone, online).

The following are a sampling of our discounts. If you are unsure if you or someone in your party is eligible for a discount, please contact the box office staff.
Seniors
Seniors 65+ can receive a 10% discount off eligible, full-priced tickets, excluding Preferred seating.  Limited to the senior(s) in the party.

Youth
Youth 17 & Under can receive a Youth rate which is available for most performances, excluding Preferred Seating.

UMass Amherst Faculty & Staff
UMass Amherst faculty and staff can receive a 10% discount off eligible, full-priced tickets, excluding Preferred Seating. Limited to two tickets per ID per event.

Five College Students
Students enrolled in the Five Colleges (UMass Amherst, Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College) can receive a discounted rate for most performances. Students must be full-time and currently enrolled with a valid student ID. The discount is not necessarily available for UMass Continuing Education, University Without Walls, or employee-waiver students. The box office will confirm the name and enrollment status for each Five College Student ticket sold. Limited to one ticket per ID per event.  Discount excludes Preferred seating.

Group Tickets
Groups of twenty (20) or more are eligible for a 15% discount on eligible, full-priced tickets.  Other tickets, such as Youth or Five College student tickets, can count toward the minimum twenty (20) but will not receive a further discount.

Exchanges
All single ticket sales are final - there are no exchanges or refunds.

Fine Arts Center subscribers are eligible for exchange privileges – please see our How to Order Tickets page for more information.

Investigating Suspicious Ticket Purchases
The Fine Arts Center wants performance tickets in the hands of our patrons, not in the hands of third-party vendors/re-sellers.
To support this goal, the box office may investigate what it considers high-risk orders. High-risk orders may include, but are not limited to:
a. Tickets purchased by "out-of-range" buyers with a delivery method other than will call
b. Tickets purchased by multiple customers with overlapping contact methods (i.e. same mailing address, same email address)
c. Tickets purchased by known third-party vendors/re-sellers
d. Multiple, separate purchases by the same customer

If the box office identifies an order as high-risk, the box office may cancel the barcode(s) on the ticket(s) and contact the buyer to verify the legitimacy of the purchase, using the billing information provided when the order was placed and setting a deadline.
When the barcode on a ticket is cancelled, the ticket will no longer scan and provide entry to the performance. However, if the box office determines the ticket(s) are not being purchased for resale, the box office will re-issue the buyer their exact seat(s) with updated, valid ticket barcode(s).

If the buyer is unwilling or unable to verify their identity by the provided deadline, the ticket(s) may be refunded to the original purchase payment method. The box office will hold the exact seat(s) back from inventory for a period of time (subject to lead-time to performance) to allow another opportunity for the buyer to verify their identity and/or purchase intent and re-purchase their original seat(s).

Performance Change or Cancellation
If there is a major change with a performance or a cancellation of some kind, the box office will contact the purchaser via email as soon as possible.

Depending on the cause of the change or cancellation, the purchaser may be offered the opportunity to exchange their tickets to the new date/time/location, to exchange the value of their tickets to another Fine Arts Center performance, to receive a Fine Arts Center gift certificate, or to receive a refund.

Refunds
All ticket sales are final - there are no refunds or exchanges.

Re-Sale of Tickets
If a ticket is resold at a higher price than appearing thereon, it may be seized and cancelled without compensation.

Reservations
Tickets cannot be held without payment – the box office does not allow customers to reserve tickets with the intention of paying in the future.

If you are purchasing on behalf of an organization or a large group, need to use a purchase order, or need to use your UMass Amherst speedtype for payment, please alert the box office.

Sole Vendor
The Fine Arts Center box office is the sole vendor of tickets for performances and events in UMass Amherst Fine Arts Center managed venues. This includes the Frederick C. Tillis Performance Hall, Bowker Auditorium, and the Randolph W. Bromery Center for the Arts Lobby.

When purchasing your tickets, ensure you are on the Fine Arts Center’s ticketing website. Our ticketing website will begin with fac.umass.edu and our ticketing platform works diligently to protect our website’s security. If you are ever unsure about the website where you are purchasing tickets, do not complete the transaction and contact the Box Office immediately.

We do not partner with any third-party vendors/re-sellers, nor do we offer tickets to performances in Fine Arts Center performance venues on consignment at other businesses.

If you do purchase tickets on a third-party or re-seller site, the Fine Arts Center Box Office cannot provide customer support including, but not limited to:
  1. Guaranteeing your tickets are valid
  2. Ensuring you are the only ticketholder for your date/time/seat location
  3. Replacing lost tickets
  4. Contacting you regarding changes to the performance/event
  5. Processing a refund for your purchase in the event of a cancellation or major change to the event
Subscriptions
Please see our How to Order Tickets page to learn more about Fine Arts Center subscriptions.
