The Academy of St Martin In The Fields with Bruce Liu

The Academy of St Martin in the Fields is one of the most venerated ensembles in Western classical music, renowned for fresh, brilliant interpretations of great orchestral works. Formed in 1958 when Sir Neville Marriner assembled a group of leading London musicians, the ASMF quickly earned the respect and adoration of classical audiences throughout the world. And the ensemble has stayed true to its founding ideas. Nearly seven decades on, it retains the collegial spirit and flexibility of the original small, conductorless ensemble that Mariner originally envisioned. The ASMF continues to push the boundaries of player-directed performance to new heights, presenting symphonic repertoire and chamber music on a grand scale at prestigious venues across the globe.

Pianist Bruce Liu has secured a reputation as one of the most exciting talents of his generation and achieved “rock-star status in the classical music world” (The Globe and Mail). Liu is the reigning first prize winner of the International Chopin Piano Competition, having taken first place in the eighteenth instance of the quinquennial competition in 2021.
