2014 Curatorial Fellowship Exhibition:
Fractured: The Modern Nude
March 27 - May 4, 2014
Hunt, J. William, Composition, 1968
M.A. candidates Brittany Mayo and Maureen McVeigh from the Art History Program have created an exhibition for Spring 2014 which draws from the permanent collection of the UMCA, exploring the implications of nudes in drawing, photography, and paintings. This exhibition addresses the role of the classical canon in shaping the connotations of the nude, as well as how this role has changed or been actively subverted in more recent works.
