For Faculty

The Fine Arts Center invites faculty to introduce students to art experiences that enrich the curriculum, engage students in interdisciplinary learning, and cultivate the critical thought process.

Through the Fine Arts Center, faculty can arrange for students to attend music, dance, and theater performances, participate in pre- and post-performance discussions with internationally renowned artists, and schedule on-campus museum and gallery tours led by curatorial staff.

Attend a Performance with Your Class

Did you know you can add a performance to your syllabus just as you would include textbooks, art supplies, or lab fees? Through the Connected Courses Program, the Fine Arts Center encourages faculty to identify performances whose themes connect to and enhance their curriculum while also broadening their students’ understanding of the global society we live in.

All Five College students are eligible for the student rate ranging from $10-$30 depending on the show and seating location. Faculty who include attending a performance as part of their syllabus receive two complimentary tickets to the required performance.

Attend an Art Sustainability Activism Event with Your Class

Art Sustainability Activism is a collaboration between the UMass Fine Arts Center, the MFA for Poets and Writers, and the School of Earth & Sustainability that aims to create deliberate opportunities for artists, scientists, and changemakers to gather and learn from one another. Together, we reckon with climate change by elevating awareness, recognizing climate grief, and catalyzing meaningful change.
