UMass Old Chapel
As an important cultural tradition in Japan, Koh-do (incense ceremony) is similar to Chanoyu (tea ceremony) and Ikebana (flower arranging). While the formal Koh-do ceremony is steeped in protocol and tradition, the main idea is to calm the mind, learn to listen to incense, and “communicate with the transcendent.”
