The instruments koto, shamisen, kokyu, Heike biwa, shakuhachi flute and singing voice combine to weave an enchanting representation of many of the genres of traditional Japanese music through the ages. Their enchanting and colorful ensemble reflects the more than thirty years of performance they each have with their instruments. The Sankyoku Ensemble has Kyokuichi Kai on koto, shamisen, kokyu, Heike biwa, voice, Yoko Hiraoka on koto, shamisen, voice, and David Wheeler on shakuhachi flute.
