pOp-Up 101
156 Main Street, Greenfield

Gallery Hours: December 5 - 8, 2019, 12 - 6pm
Festival Hours: December 7, 9am - 7pm
Shopping Therapy Hours: December 8, 12-6pm

Aptly named pOp-Up 101, this event, much like an entry-level course, may be the perfect way for Augusta Savage Gallery, one of the oldest programs at the UMass Fine Arts Center, to introduce itself to Franklin County.

Augusta Savage Gallery has a reputation for featuring creative work generated by artists of color as well as other socially engaged artists who address such issues as race, gender, class, cultural identity and other concerns. As a movable gallery, we hope to generate the same kind of forward thinking in a brand new context.

pOp-Up 101 will be located in an empty store front in downtown Greenfield at 156 Main St., a vibrant hub where restaurants, bookstores, hair salons, galleries, concert venues, yoga studios, wellness centers, banks, coffee shops, gift shops, as well as Greenfield Community College’s satellite campus are located.

In the midst of the holiday season, this is a perfect time to enjoy or buy art, listen to world-class musicians, watch dancers, even get a tarot reading, or enjoying a massage.

Applying the whimsical number “101” to various facets of the event, this 101-hour project (4.20 days) will feature 101 artworks by artists who have exhibited in some of our past exhibitions as well as works from their own collections.  All art is priced at $101 and below! If you’re a collector or simply looking for a gift for someone, this is where you’ll find it.

Saturday, December 7, 9am - 7pm
