Opposites ideals collide in Bill T. Jones' new highly charged evening-lengthed work, Blind Date. With a raw examination of patriotism at its core, Jones is fascinated by honor, sacrifice, duty, loyalty, and service to a cause larger than oneself -- values all but lost amoung our modern world -- yet he spins patriotism on its head to reveal its underbelly of zealous passion, nationalistic fervor, and misguided wars. Performed by his technically stunning 10-member company, guest actors, and live music, the work also includes an evocative landscape of primary colors and video projections to the music of composer Daniel Bernard Roumain.
