Gaining international recognition on many of the world's most prestigious opera stages, Opera Verdi is based on the great traditions of opera in Bulgaria. This appearance is part of the company's first North American tour. Cavalleria Rusticana unfolds into a twisted interplay between past and present lovers, professions of love, betrayal and a final, fateful duel. An opera within an opera, Pagliacci is a drama of jealousy and revenge where the boundaries between the imaginary world of theatre and the real passions of a theatrical troupe are broken down with violent results.
