Having walked on stage together over 1500 times in the past fifteen years the St. Lawrence String Quartet has established itself among the world-class chamber ensembles of its generation. In 1992, they won both the Banff International String Quartet Competition and Young Concert Artists Auditions, launching them on a performing career that has brought them across North and South America, Europe and Asia. In their first Career Series program, they performed with Pilobolus. This time the stage is theirs alone when they perform the Mozart Quartet K. 575, Schumann Quartet No. 1, and "Yiddishbbuk" by the celebrated Argentinean-American composer Osvaldo Golijov.
"A sound that has just about everything one wants from a quartet, most notably precision, warmth and an electricity that conveys the excitement of playing whatever is on their stands at the moment."
