In this period epic, South Korea's renowned cinematic auteur creates an exquisite retelling of the classic tale of forbidden love between a nobleman's son and a courtesan's daughter, narratively integrating pansori--a traditional art-form with singing and drumming. Vocals are provided in voiceover and onscreen performance by leading pansori artist Cho Sang Hyun. Directed by Im Kwon-taek. 120 minutes, in Korean with English subtitles
