Co-presented by the UMass Bach Festival and our Codemakers arts and activism series, this one-of-a-kind event features new Bach-related works by leading Asian American classical music and dance artists, commissioned by the Fine Arts Center. One of New York City Ballet’s most exciting dancers, Georgina Pazcoguin, and influential postmodern choreographer Donna Uchizono explore their multiple identities in Western performance. Working with fugue as a metaphor for diasporic identity, violinist Hyeyung Sol Yoon and composer Texu Kim take inspiration from Bach’s C Major violin sonata in a new work for solo violin.
