Five College Arts Connected Courses 2023-2024

The UMass Fine Arts Center is committed to increasing opportunities for Five College students and faculty to participate in and understand the arts. We strive to produce and present performances reflecting the highest standards of excellence and diversity indicative of the world in which we live.

The Five College Arts Connected Courses Program encourages faculty to connect students with art experiences to enrich their course work. Opportunities include performances, pre- and post-performance discussions with the artists, master classes, gallery tours and more. When faculty include attending a performance as part of a course syllabus, they receive two complimentary tickets to the required performance.

All Five College students are eligible for the student rate ranging from $10-$30 depending on the show and seating location.

To Reserve Tickets

When you require students to attend a Fine Arts Center performance as part of a course, fill out and submit this form.

Two complimentary tickets will be provided to the faculty member for the required performance.
You will need the following information to complete the form:
  • Faculty and/or TA name and campus
  • Course name and number.
  • A copy of syllabus listing the performance for upload. Files accepted: gif jpg jpeg png pdf doc docx odt under 2MB.
  • Anticipated student enrollment (we understand that not all students will attend even if the event is required, but this gives our Box Office a sense of how many to expect)
When you receive confirmation regarding your class attendance your name will be added to a list held at the Box Office. The Box Office will discuss how to claim your tickets.

Group Purchase

Seating will be grouped together based on availability. Tickets purchased as a single transaction may be paid by the department sponsoring the class. We can accept payment by account transfer within UMass departments, purchase order, check, Discover, Visa or Mastercard. For checks: please make payable to UMass Amherst and include performance and course in the memo field. Payment must be received before the performance unless another arrangement is made with the Box Office Manager.

Individual Purchase

Students are responsible for purchasing individual tickets. Seating is best available. Class members will not be seated together unless they purchase tickets together at the Box Office. Students may purchase tickets online, in person or by phone. Students must have a valid and current ID to receive the student rate.

Master Classes and Class Visits

The Fine Arts Center is more than great performance. We try to extend the artists’ time with us and provide master classes and class visits. If you would like to inquire about the possibility of connecting directly with our visiting artists please contact the Programming Office. Outreach activities may require additional artists’ compensation. Please check with the Fine Arts Center for availability and cost.

Other Educational Groups (other colleges, high schools, community youth groups, etc.)

Youth groups where the majority of the participants are 17 and under will receive the youth rate. Chaperones and adult support personnel will receive the group discount rate regardless of whether the group makes the minimum. It must be clear that this is a publicly recognized school or youth group (for example after school programs, YMCA, or other nonprofit youth group). Visiting groups from other higher education institutions will be accommodated on a case-by-case basis. For any questions, please call the Box Office.
