God and Country
featuring Canadian painters: Scott Sawtell and Matt Bahen

Sunday, October 22 - Friday, November 3, 2006
Hampden GalleryFree and open to the public
By placing the work of the artists scott Sawtell and Matt Bahen side by side, dialogue is encouraged concerning the differences and the similarities of their separate artistic approaches. The discourse initiated by the work includes important artistic and social issues such as the representation of war, the role of the image and ways in which images are presented to the viewer, the separation between oneself and the "other", the role of painting in today's media saturated age, and one's role in the "global village".
