Incubator Space: February 1 - April 15, 2022
Artist Reception: Sunday, February 6, 2022 - 1:00-3:00 p.m. ET
An Itchy Sorrow, The Nectar of Dreams is a body of work that explores the underlying sorrow behind the loss of our natural environment and the loss of diversity of animal and plant life on the earth. In conjunction with the loss of our connectedness to one another during the pandemic, the artist explores the psychological impact of the threat of the loss of our ability to live on earth. This work investigates the quiet life of dreams and our deep desire to reconnect with the natural world.
Artist Statement:
My work speaks to questions about the corporeal nature of humans and animals and looks to examine my deep frustration with the limitations of our lives apart from the flow of the natural world.
I work to examine the boundaries between entities in nature, to express a sense of spiritual searching for connectedness between human life and plants and animals. Using an amalgam of disparate media, I look to meld materials to create a hybrid world of my dreams and visions apart from the waking world.
