Kamil Peters
DIASPORA AFRICA
February 19 - March 15, 2013
Opening Reception Feb. 19, 5-7pm
Young, up-and-coming metal sculptor, Kamil Peters, works from found objects. Born in Lubbock, Tx and raised in Amherst MA., Kamil got his B.A. from Hampshire College in 2010 and has had work featured throughout the Pioneer Valley. With influences ranging from the ancient terra cotta heads of South America to modern sculptors like Thaddeus Mosley and Elizabeth Catlett, he searches for a lost African past, recycling the strength of ancestral spirits through his work.
