Mombasa Party is a get-together of some of East Africa's most well-known Taarab artists. It's a wonderful mixture of Swahili and Indian Film songs. They will be joined by one of the greatest percussion ensembles in the world; the Royal Drummers of Burundi channel the energy and creative spirit of a nation through these drums and the rituals surrounding them. Their massed drum sound, or "Burundi beat" as it has become known, has influenced a lot of western artists since the 60's. Their live performances are the ultimate African drum experience.
