This lively and engaging documentary charts the progress of four young Canadians with dreams of Bollywood stardom--with varying degrees of success. Children of Indian immigrants, Neeru, Bajwa, Ruby, Bhatia, and Vekeana Dhillion and her brother Vikram indentify strongly with the glamorous heroines and heroes of Hindi masala movies. Nisha Pahuja's film offers a fascinating look at the power of popular culture in shaping diasporic fantasies. This screening will be followed by a panel descussion. 88 minutes. In English and Hindi with English Subtitles
