Noh is a highly refined, richly symbolic and beautifully stylized dance-drama written in lyric poetry. It is tragic theater, deeply philosophical and concerned with man's spiritual beliefs and moral codes. Workshop participants will be initiated into the stylistically refined theater techniques of Noh.
Presented in partnership with the Department of Theater. Funded in part by the Japan Society of Boston and the Freeman Foundation. The UMASS Arts Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council
