Shifting, curated by Sue Katz, is an exhibition of five artists from the Northeast who expand the ancient art of encaustic painting with pigmented wax into edgy new territory. These artists are part of the revival of encaustic painting and will provide viewers with a show of two- and three- dimensional art incorporating wax. This mid October weekend, "Encaustic Extravaganza" features an opening reception and a performance titled "HOT WAX" by Kim Bernard on Saturday, October 15, and a talk/demonstration with all five artists on Sunday, October 16.
