Wildly acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, Stephen Petronio Company has performed in 22 countries throughout the world as well as presenting 30 New York City engagements. New music, visual art and fashion collide in Petronio's dances producing powerfully modern landscapes for the senses. Petronio has built a body of work with some of the most talented and provocative artists in the world. For their Amherst appearance, the Company will perform a major new dance, BLOOM, created in collaboration with performer and songwriter Rufus Wainwright.
Funded in part by the National Dance Project of the New England Foundation for the Arts, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. Additional funding provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Ford Foundation.
