Terry Rooney: Beneath the Surface

February 23 - March 13, 2014
Opening Reception: Sunday, February 23 from 2 pm to 4 pm

Description:  Most recently, Terry Rooney has made her mark on the Amherst art scene as the founder and curator of the Amherst Biennial Exhibition. The Biennial was a grand curatorial effort comprised of  almost 100 artists showing at conventional and alternative venues located throughout the 5-College system and throughout area businesses . What led Rooney to this commitment of time and energy was her own long standing studio practice and her deep belief in the trans-formative power of art .

In her solo exhibition "Beneath the Surface" Rooney taps in to her own trans-formative  experiences to reveal both literally and metaphorically--what lies beneath. The prints in this series were produced at Zea Mays Printmaking  in Florence, MA http://zeamaysprintmaking.com/
