Chicago saxophonist Ken Vandermark and New York trumpeter Nate Wooley have released two, highly acclaimed recordings since forming their duo in 2013. A Boston native, Vandermark was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship in 1999 at age 34, and has circled the globe many times performing with Peter Brötzmann, Jason Moran and Fred Anderson, among others. Nate Wooley performs with John Zorn, Evan Parker and Anthony Braxton. His third Quintet release, (Dance To) The Early Music, is a fresh approach to the music of Wynton Marsalis.
