Here’s more information on our programs and the importance of your gift.

Culturally diverse programming

Since its opening in 1975 the Fine Arts Center has established itself as the premier destination for an outstanding array of culturally diverse programming. Alas, culturally rich programming is often not the most economically viable. Support helps bridge the gap between production costs and ticket sales.

The Angel Ticket program for in-need families

The Angel Ticket Program provides complimentary performance tickets to residents of Hampshire, Hampden and Franklin Counties whose financial and/or social situation would otherwise prohibit them from experiencing live performances of the performing arts. Tickets are granted to the clients of eligible nonprofit human service organizations.

The Global Arts Program for K-12 student performances

The FAC exposes thousands of students each year to the best in national and international performing arts events for school audiences. Often times these shows are a student’s first exposure to a live show in a concert hall. The experience can become a memory of a lifetime. Support helps keep these performances affordable to the schools, thus maximizing attendance.

Artist in Residence outreach workshops

World class artists from both the performing and visual arts worlds spend time on campus and in local public schools as part of the FAC’s Artist in Residence education program. The program provides students and the community unforgettable opportunities to interact with a visiting artist—through conversation, hands-on demonstrations, performance or exhibits.

Jazz in July Scholarships

For more than 30 years nationally known jazz educators under the direction of the FAC have been connecting jazz students with the country’s top jazz artists/educators for intensive study in jazz improvisation. Scholarships enable talented students with financial challenges the opportunity to participate in the program, enhance their skills, and demonstrate their talents.

Internships at the University Museum

The University Museum of Contemporary Art is the only on-campus resource that offers structured training for undergraduate and graduate students looking for careers in the visual arts outside of academia. Support of internships helps prepare a new generation to enter today’s work force.

Support the UMass Fine Arts Center’s goal “to expose all generations to the wonders of the arts.”

Only the UMass Fine Arts Center is exposing, engaging, educating and inspiring all generations to experience the visual and performing arts.
