FAMILY SPECIFIC FAQs

Are these the only family-friendly performances?
We have deemed the performances listed on the page to be appropriate for families and have suggested an appropriate age for each in the performance description. But ultimately, it is up to parents and guardians to decide if a performance is appropriate for their family members.

Does my child need a ticket?
Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket. In the rare event that lap seats are an option, it will be noted in the performance details.

Is there food available to purchase at the venue?
At each performance, we will have light concessions for sale in the lobby. For performances in the Concert Hall and some in Bowker, we have invited UMass Dining’s BabyBerk Food Truck to park on site approximately 1.5 hours prior to the performance. Confirmation of BabyBerk’s presence at a performance will be confirmed in your pre-show email. You might also consider visiting the UMass Campus Center or even one of the dining halls on campus, open to the public. Visit UMass Dining’s website for full information about retail dining options on campus.

Are drinks and food allowed inside the theater?
You may bring in beverages, but no food please. We will have a new water bottle filling station in the Lobby of the Concert Hall for your convenience.

What do I do with the stroller?
There is ample space at the entrance of each seating section in the Concert Hall. Our ushers would be more than happy to help you stow and store your stroller.

What is the late seating policy?
Unless specified by the company, late seating is at the discretion of the house manager. Detailed information about each performance’s late seating policy will be included in the pre-show email.

What if I need to step out of the theater during the performance?
During performances, a live feed of the show is available in the side lobbies of the Concert Hall and the Lobby of Bowker for patrons who need a break from the theater setting.

Are there changing stations available in the bathrooms?
There is a changing station in each bathroom in the lobby of the Concert Hall as well as the restrooms in the Concert Hall.
