FAC COMMUNITY FEST

Free and open to the public, Fine Arts Center PlazaA fun, free event for students, families, and all audiences!
FAC Community Fest is a celebration of our Fine Arts Center's 40th Anniversary Season, and will feature local talent (many of whom perform at the FAC during the year) on an outdoor stage and around the FAC Plaza.
Main Stage Schedule:
12:50p.m. Opening Taiko Drum Call to the Festival!
1:05 p.m. Mountain River Taiko Drumming + learn to play taiko on stage with the drummers!
1:20 p.m. Pioneer Valley Symphony Chamber Choir
1:40 p.m. Yo-Yo Expert Performance
1:55 p.m. UMass Belly Dance
2:05 p.m. Expandable Brass Band + bring your own brass and play with them!
2:40 p.m. Amherst Ballet
3:00 p.m. Acapella by the UMass Dynamics
3:25 p.m. Mary Poppins theatrical singalong by ALS Community Theater
3:50 p.m. The Primate Fiasco (40 minute set)
Other activities & attractions:
- Hoop Joy hula hooping performances and lessons
- Dance lessons in the lobby - ballroom, hip hop, belly dance
- Interactive songs and games for kids by Renee Coro
- Free face painting by The Happy Face Painter
- Lawn games and other activities
- Crafting including: turn T-shirts into tote bags with WMUA - bring your old T's!
- Chalk art contest
- Wood on the Plaza public art exhbition on wood architecture and engineering by the UMass Building and Construction Technology Program.
- University Museum of Contemporary Art exhibits
- Exhibiting artwork from members of Anchor House of Artists, Leverett Crafts & Arts, and Oxbow Gallery
- Food trucks, fair food and free popcorn!
