“Invigorating the stage with that elusive thing called joy” (New York Times), Spirit of Uganda presents riveting programs of music and dance for audiences of all ages. To the melodic tones of standing drums, with dramatic choreography, bright, layered rhythms, and gorgeous call-and-response vocals, a vibrant cast of 22 performers, ages 10–20, bring to life the sounds and movements of East Africa.

Join performers from the Spirit of Uganda in an East African Dance workshop! 
Tuesday, March 4, 6-7:30pm, on the Concert Hall stage at the UMass Fine Arts Center. $10 general public, students and youth free, max 2 youth per adult. PDP certificates will be available to participating teachers. Dance students especially encouraged, but no previous experience is necessary. 
Come learn expressive and powerful East African dances directly from these professional youth from across the globe! Anyone may join in for this workshop, but pre-registration is required – please call 545-4160 to register by Thursday, Feb. 27.
